Embracing Self Love - The Journey Within

If you're still looking for that one person who can change your life, take a look in the mirror.

This Valentine's Day, let’s take a moment to focus inward and explore the power of self love, because it's only when we learn to love ourselves do we allow others to love us too.💖

The Energy Within:

Everything around us is Energy - from The Earth to the trees and the sea.  Even our thoughts, emotions and actions are Energy and we feel the vibrational effects of this through our bodies.  

Anger, stress, overwhelm, anxiety, sadness, disappointment and fear are all examples of ‘low vibrational energy’.   These energies can feel heavy and stagnant and will reflect in our actions, therefore influencing our relationship with ourselves and others.  When we act from a place of fear, it mirrors back at us from the people around us. We begin to attract what we most fear - it's a system we've  learned to keep ourselves safe - often rejecting ourselves before others reject us.  💔

But remember:  Energy can’t be destroyed, it can only be transmuted and shifted…

Breaking the cycle: So how can you change these limiting beliefs to begin to love and believe in yourself?   

🌳 Ground yourself:  Take deep breaths to connect with your emotions from within, rather than being influenced solely by external factors.  Take time out, get out in Nature, place your bare feet on the ground.

🌪️ Acknowledge your feelings:  Listen to your emotions rather than pushing them away.  Connecting with your breath will allow you to access your emotions and reassess the situation so that you can respond from a place of truth rather than fear.   Journalling can help to release and replace low vibrational energy with higher vibrations.  (See Journal Prompts Below).

🥰 Acknowledge yourself:  Recognise the benefits of your journey - your struggles have made you who you are today and have shaped your kindness, empathy towards others and your unique strengths and qualities.  Acknowledge your courageousness and who you've become.

💝 Reframe the Benefits: Consider the positive outcomes of letting go - less stress, more fun, more motivation, and the ability to inspire others.  The less you have to work hard, the more you are able to reignite your passions and have more capacity to help and support others.

📋 Reevaluate your To-Do List:  We all have those days or weeks when we say - once I get this over with, I’ll make time for myself.                                                 What can you cross of your list?  Where can you re schedule or delegate?  Identify the tasks that bring you joy and passion.  Commit to them and make self care a priority.

🪽 Connect with your healing team:  Who's in your healing team? Ask your Angels, Spirit guides, Ancestors, God, Mother Earth for support.  Look out for the signs that they are showing you.  Trust in your intuition and what you are being guided towards.  Take action.     

💫 Raising your vibration: Shift to a higher vibration by engaging in activities that bring calm, bliss, and connection. Whether it's dancing, singing, exercise, baking, spending time with a friend or time in nature, make a date with yourself.  Do something that feels nourishing to the soul.  Schedule it into your diary  Prioritise these activities to feel more inspired and motivated and break the pattern of feeling not good enough and the need for outward validation. 

Unconditional Self Love: As you embark on your journey of self love, remember:   ‘Demonstrate love by giving it to yourself unconditionally and as you do, you will attract others into your life who will love you without conditions’. 

Journal prompts:

Take 3 deep breaths, connect with the emotion that you are feeling in your body,

Now ask yourself:

What's showing up for me? (Journal around whatever is showing up for you in life).

How is this making me feel?

What am I making this mean about myself, other people, life? (What is my internal dialogue around this)?

When has this happened before?  When has this shown up in life before?

How did it make me feel? 

What did it mean to me?

Notice any repeating patterns where this has shown up in your life.     

What am I secretly wanting to hear, feel and see from other people? 

How am I choosing to give this to myself instead? What am I choosing to focus on instead?  

Make a declaration to yourself in moving forwards - connect to how you would like to feel - what would you choose to do and how would you choose to show up if you already felt this way?
